How will I know if it’s the right time to see a Trichologist?It is the right time to see a Trichologist if you suffer with excessive hair loss, hair breakage, hair loss patches, excessive facial hair in women, loss of facial hair such as eyebrows and eye lashes, hair thinning and patches of scale, or if you have any concerns about your scalp. Other symptoms can include chronic dandruff, excessive oiliness or dryness of the scalp, seborrhea dermatitis, psoriasis, thrichotillomania, excessive body hair for men and use of medications frequently.

How long does a consultation last?The initial consultation will typically last around 1 hour and is completely confidential.

What will happen during my consultation?During your consultation our Consultant Trichologist will ask about any existing health problems that you are aware of, any medication you are taking and what your diet and lifestyle is like. Our Consultant Trichologist will also perform a hair and skin analysis using a dermascope where pictures will be taken for reference. If you have had any blood tests taken and you’re able to take a copy of the results, along with a list of any medication you are on to your consultation, this will be beneficial.

What happens after my first consultation?If our Consultant Trichologist deems further tests are necessary, she will recommend which tests you need. Our Consultant Trichologist will also diagnose and recommend treatments that can be varied out at the clinic or recommend a home care regime.

How much will a consultation cost?The initial consultation will cost £95.00 per hour.

As part of my treatment, I was prescribed shampoo. How can I get more as I do not live locally to the salon?"We have shampoo available to order via our Trichology shop. However this will only be accessible if you have been given a secure password by our Consultant Trichologist and only available to those who have been prescribed it.
