About us
Chameleons was first established in 2000, in a basement in Plymstock. Founder Teresa Wood worked as a stylist whilst teaching aspiring hairdressers to join the industry. With Teresa having an eye for talented individuals, the salon soon started to grow with young and highly-trained, skilled stylists.
The salon relocated into Cottage Colour in 2009, where Teresa would continue to split her time between hairdressing, teaching and expanding her client base on a larger premises.
A few years later, Teresa took the opportunity to expand her knowledge and started to study at university to become a qualified Trichologist After three years of learning, development and training, Teresa has now graduated proudly as a Consultant Trichologist, making her an expert in the science of the structure, function and diseases of the human hair and scalp.

Chameleons moved into their very own salon in 2019; a spacious two-story building which enabled us to create a Trichology Clinic on our first floor, as well as a hair salon situated on the ground floor. It’s only 200 yards away from the first basement salon where it all began.
We are now a very proud team of six which is made up of highly experienced stylists and we’re only just getting started. We cannot wait to watch our team expand and see what is next for us!
Our first floor is home to our brand new Trichology Clinic. Private, confidential consultations and treatments are held by our qualified Consultant Trichologist, Teresa PHD AIT.

Teresa is a board-certified member of the Institute of Trichologists. She is able to diagnose and treat various hair and scalp conditions, hair loss and damage to the hair for both men and women.
Teresa is also qualified with Marion Gluck Training Academy in Bioidential Hormone Replacement Therapy. She can treat and manage a number of common female conditions such as premenstrual syndrome and menopause. Visit our Trichology Clinic to take the first step towards a brand new you.
